HCM CITY - A 63-year-old woman in Bình Thạnh District, identified as N.T.C.T., was found deceased in her home, with her son, Nguyễn Ngọc C., captured on security camera footage carrying her wrapped body outside.

Police in Ho Chi Minh City have confirmed that the woman's death was due to natural causes, and the family has agreed with this finding.

By a security camera on the street, it was witnessed that on May 24, the body of N.T.C.T. was wrapped in a blanket and taken outside their residence by her 27-year-old son, Nguyễn Ngọc C., who works as a security guard at a nearby hospital.

Both N.T.C.T. and her husband, Nguyễn Hữu Bôn, 62, have been living in a small, run-down house in Alley 207 on Bạch Đằng Street, Bình Thạnh District, for 25 years. Originally owned by Bôn's family, the couple currently owns no significant assets, and the son, C., was unable to attend university due to financial constraints.

C., who has inherited some of his mother's neurological issues, expressed his regret to our website but explained that his actions were out of panic and desperation.

Bôn shared that his wife had been struggling with neurological issues, vestibular disorders, and pneumonia, and had been bedridden for the past three months.

On the evening of May 24, Bôn discovered his wife had passed away, and, after an emotional reaction, he fell asleep due to exhaustion. He only found out the next morning that his son had taken the body outside, a fact shared by neighbors who described the family as financially struggling and their son as quiet and somewhat mentally unstable.

According to research on environmental factors and mental health, living in poor housing conditions, such as small, run-down houses, can exacerbate stress levels, depression, and social isolation, particularly for children. These environmental factors may negatively impact children's mental well-being. Efforts are underway in Ho Chi Minh City to improve housing conditions and provide better living conditions for families and children.
