Adhering to mask regulations within society could help triumph over the pandemic, asserts attendee at Almaty's photographic exhibit opposing COVID-19.
In the heart of Almaty, a captivating photo exhibition is currently unfolding, showcasing works by the city's very own residents. According to the city's press service, the event serves a double purpose: reminding residents of the crucial importance of maintaining sanitary norms, particularly the mask mandate, as a fresh wave of COVID-19 looms. But it also aims to shed light on the unsung heroes on the frontlines, battling this pandemic – healthcare workers, epidemiologists, police officers, volunteers, and many more.
Dosjan Balabekuly, editor of the acclaimed portal "Qazaq Gazetleri", graced the event with his presence and shared his thoughts. "This year, COVID-19 has taken the world by surprise. It was like an unforeseen war, leading to numerous losses and affecting countless families. We realized that the virus doesn't discriminate, and the key to defeating it lies in diligently adhering to quarantine rules," he explained, emphasizing the importance of city residents sticking to the mask mandate in their daily lives to curb the virus's spread.
Balabekuly also highlighted the need for citizens to step up their responsibility in enforcing safety measures. "In Almaty, we see masks everywhere now. This is a sign of responsibility. However, there are still those who choose to overlook this rule. Our photographs capture individuals wearing masks as an example to inspire many. The photos reflect the current atmosphere we live in during this quarantine. Our objective is to spark thought. I believe that if every member of society adheres to the mask mandate, we can conquer COVID-19 together. My photos will be displayed at various locations across Almaty," said D. Balabekuly.
The exhibition runs from November 13 to 19. Residents' photos and graphics can be found in popular shopping and entertainment centers, as well as in the city's CSCs. The works are also showcased on LED screens citywide.
