Angeles City Unveils Four New PhilHealth-Accredited Clinics and Upgraded Department

Angeles City, officially opened four new PhilHealth-accredited clinics and a newly upgraded department on March 4, 2026. The facilities, located inside the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center, were inaugurated during a ceremony led by Mayor Carmelo 'Jon' B. Lazatin II.

The inauguration featured a ribbon-cutting and blessing, attended by city officials and healthcare representatives. Among the new clinics, the Mental Health Clinic, headed by Dr. Mel Vinci Cruz, will provide psychiatric services and early mental health interventions. Another key addition is the Rheumatic Fever-Rheumatic Heart Disease Clinic, managed by Dr. Gerard Razon and Dr. Melody Franco, offering specialized cardiovascular care.

The Family and Community Medicine Department, under Dr. Nicias Mendoza, also achieved Level III accreditation from PhilHealth. Additionally, the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) provider, the Public Health Unit, led by Dr. Ricky Gutierrez, will focus on preventive and primary healthcare. Overall service delivery across the city remains under the supervision of the Public Health Unit, managed by Dr. Aida Capulong with support from the PHU-MIS and HEPO teams.

Since 2024, no other PhilHealth-accredited clinics or health programs have been introduced in Angeles City, as of March 5, 2026.

The newly opened clinics and upgraded department expand healthcare access in Angeles City. Residents can now benefit from specialized mental health, cardiovascular, and primary care services under PhilHealth accreditation. The city's health infrastructure has seen no further additions since these facilities launched.
