Anonymous Student Donates Vital Signs Monitor to IPO Porto's Pediatric Ward
A 12th-grade student has made a significant donation to the Portuguese Oncology Institute (IPO) in Porto. The student, who wishes to remain anonymous, donated a vital signs monitor to enhance clinical monitoring for children and young people undergoing treatment at the institute's pediatric ward.
The student raised funds for the donation by organizing a charity walk, known as the 'Solidarity Walk to mark International Childhood Cancer Day'. The IPO expressed gratitude for the student's act of solidarity, highlighting the importance of the new equipment in improving patient care. This donation is part of the student's final project for the Professional Aptitude Test in the Sports Technician program, demonstrating the student's commitment to community service and healthcare.
The donated vital signs monitor, which includes blood pressure and pulse oximetry functions, will greatly benefit the pediatric patients at IPO Porto. The student's efforts have not only raised funds but also awareness about childhood cancer, leaving a lasting impact on the institute and its young patients.
