Apple Fitness gets a leadership shake-up to combat subscriber churn

Apple is revamping its Fitness service, aiming to boost growth and reduce subscriber churn. The tech giant has appointed Dr. Sumbul Desai, its vice president of health, to lead the restructuring effort under the guidance of Eddy Cue, Apple's services chief.

Launched in 2020 at €9.99 per month, Apple Fitness has seen limited price changes and new features since its inception. Despite offering a three-month free trial for new Apple product purchases in Germany, the service has struggled with high subscriber turnover and stagnant revenue growth. Now, Apple aims to breathe new life into Fitness, hoping that Desai's leadership will address core issues and improve performance. Despite its challenges, Apple has no plans to discontinue the service.

With Desai at the helm, Apple Fitness is poised for a makeover, promising improved performance and better growth prospects. The restructuring effort signals Apple's commitment to its digital services, even in the face of obstacles.
