Apple Watch Series 10 and AirPods Pro get groundbreaking health upgrades
Apple has unveiled major updates to its wearable devices, focusing on health and performance. The Apple Watch Series 10 and the second-generation AirPods Pro now include advanced features designed to monitor sleep and hearing. Both products are set to roll out globally later this year.
The Apple Watch Series 10 introduces a sleeker design with a larger display, available in 42mm and 46mm sizes. It also charges faster, senses water depth and temperature, and provides up to 18 hours of battery life. One of its standout features is the ability to track breathing disruptions during sleep, which may help detect sleep apnea. However, this function still awaits clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The new AirPods Pro will offer a clinically validated hearing test and an over-the-counter hearing aid function. Like the sleep apnea feature on the Apple Watch, these capabilities require regulatory approval before becoming fully available. Apple has not yet confirmed a specific launch date for these functions in Germany. Pricing for the Apple Watch Series 10 starts at €449. The device will be available in over 150 countries and regions by September 2024. Meanwhile, the updated AirPods Pro will launch in more than 100 markets during fall 2024.
The latest Apple Watch and AirPods Pro bring new health-monitoring tools to consumers. While some features are still pending regulatory approval, the devices are scheduled for a wide release in the coming months. The updates reflect Apple’s continued push into health-focused technology.
