Aschaffenburg Launches Breastfeeding-Friendly Business Initiative
The Health Region of Landkreis and Stadt Aschaffenburg, along with local offices, are launching an initiative for World Breastfeeding Week. The aim is to reduce barriers and pressure to purchase for families, while allowing businesses to signal family-friendliness. Participating businesses need only provide a seating area for breastfeeding or feeding, a changing station, or a free restroom, with no obligation to make purchases.
Businesses, cafés, and other facilities in the region can show support by displaying a sticker indicating they welcome people with young children. The sticker will be provided free of charge to interested businesses, which can contact the Health Region's business office to obtain it. The initiative aims to make life easier for families by helping them find welcoming places to breastfeed, feed, change diapers, or use the restrooms. This will be achieved by encouraging businesses to offer these facilities without expecting customers to make a purchase.
The initiative is set to launch in Landkreis and Stadt Aschaffenburg, with the exact date and period yet to be announced. It aims to create a network of family-friendly places where parents can tend to their infants and toddlers' needs without feeling pressured to make purchases.
