Atlanta’s Fire Department Ignites Future Careers for Young Women in 2025

The Atlanta Fire Department is set to host Camp Ignite Atlanta 2025, a three-day career exploration camp aimed at inspiring young women to consider firefighting and emergency medical services. Becky Sattero, host of ATL Live, will participate in the program.

Camp Ignite Atlanta, designed for young ladies in grades 10 through 12, focuses on empowering participants through leadership, teamwork, and real-world skills. The camp provides hands-on exposure to careers in firefighting and emergency medical services, where women remain underrepresented.

Participants will live the experience by responding to simulated service calls and conducting fire scene investigations. LaChandra Burks, Chief Operating Officer for the City of Atlanta, and Teresa 'Starr' Cummings, Atlanta Fire Department Battalion Chief, will discuss what they look for in a firefighter candidate, offering valuable insights into the profession.

The program, aiming to inspire the next generation of young ladies to dream big and make a difference in their communities, is set to take place in 2025. Becky Sattero's involvement as a host promises an engaging and informative experience for the participants.
