Celebrating Yakutia's Unsung Heroes: Medical Workers

With Medical Workers' Day just around the corner, the unsung heroes of Yakutia are finally getting the recognition they deserve. In a heartwarming ceremony, these medical professionals were showered with awards, diplomas, and other honors, as reported by Yakutia 24.

"Yakutian medical workers are the true pillars of our community. These ordinary people exhibit extraordinary courage and dedication every day—working tirelessly to save lives and preserve health in our unique and challenging climate," said Kirill Bychkov, Chairman of the Yakutia Government.

Among the awards presented, departmental honorary diplomas, badges of honor, the "Civil Valor" sign, and titles like "Honored Doctor" and "Honored Worker of Healthcare of Yakutia" were bestowed upon the deserving recipients.

One senior ophthalmologist, Nurguiyaa Ebil, was named an Honored Doctor of Yakutia. With 25 years of dedicated service and a life-long dream of becoming a surgeon, her story is inspiring. Despite facing discouragement from her university mentors, she persevered, eventually finding her passion in ophthalmology.

"To this day, I cry with joy alongside my patients as I help them regain their sight. Receiving this award today is a tremendous honor for me and my family," Nurguiyaa told Yakutia 24.

The prestigious Nikolai Semashko medals were presented to Alexander Zolotarev, chief physician of the Yakutsk Republican Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS and Infectious Diseases, and Stanislav Zhirkov, general director of RBO No. 1 - NTCM Yakutia. These awards commend their exceptional work in strengthening the public health system.

Stanislav, whose sister is also a doctor, shared his enthusiasm for technology's role in modern medicine. "The integration of new technologies into our daily practices has become commonplace. I truly believe that good leaders should remain skilled and agile, with Tuesdays and Thursdays being my operating days," he said.

In Yakutia, the healthcare system boasts over 5,400 doctors, more than 12,000 mid-level medical staff, and over 3,600 junior medical staff, as previously reported by Yakutia Media.
