Bad Salzungen's Hospice Fundraiser Hits €10,240 with Star-Studded Support

A fundraising campaign for Bad Salzungen Children's Hospice has raised over €10,240 for the Ambulatory Children's and Youth Hospice Service. The effort concluded with a benefit concert on January 31, 2026, featuring performances from local and high-profile supporters. Organisers now encourage further donations to sustain the service's vital work.

The campaign began after a volunteer from the hospice shared emotional stories at a networking event in November. Their account inspired the community to take action, leading to a series of fundraising activities.

High-profile figures lent their support, including former world-class biathlete Alexander Wolf, who served as the campaign's patron. Other notable names, such as footballer Uwe Bein, biathlete Erik Lesser, and cyclist Tony Martin, also backed the initiative. Their involvement helped raise awareness and boost contributions.

On January 31, 2026, musician Stefan SCHAEL headlined a benefit concert that pushed the total donation past €10,240. The final amount was presented to the hospice service shortly after. While no further official events have been announced since then, organisers have outlined plans for future fundraisers. These include gatherings on May 30, 2026, as well as during Walpurgis Night, Men's Day, Pentecost, and Oktoberfest.

Additional events are still scheduled for February. Comedian Markus Majowski will perform at Charlottenhaus on February 13, followed by a Valentine's Day reading of erotic stories by Stefan SCHAEL on February 14.

The campaign has now ended, but donations remain open via the account DE 06793301110002100241. The funds will directly support the Ambulatory Children's and Youth Hospice Service in Bad Salzungen. Organisers continue to seek community involvement for upcoming events later in the year.
