Bangladesh Coast Guard rescues critically ill child at sea in dramatic operation

A critically ill child was saved on Friday after the Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) stepped in to provide emergency care. The incident took place on a passenger launch travelling from Bhola to Dhaka, where the child’s condition suddenly worsened. The mother and her sick child were aboard the launch when the child’s health rapidly declined. A passenger on the vessel contacted the national emergency number 999, prompting the coast guard to respond. A medical team from BCG station Pagla quickly reached the launch using a high-speed boat. They administered first aid to stabilize the child before further action was taken. The child was then transported by high-speed boat to Sadarghat. From there, they were rushed to Sumana Hospital for advanced medical treatment. The swift response from the Bangladesh Coast Guard ensured the child received urgent care in time. After initial treatment at sea, the child was moved to a hospital for further attention. The intervention proved crucial in saving the young passenger’s life.
