Bangladesh Medical University hosted its Eid Reunion 2026 on Tuesday at Shaheed Dr Milon Hall. The gathering brought together teachers, doctors, students and staff in a day of celebration. Despite the festivities, the university ensured essential healthcare services remained fully operational.

The event included separate sessions for university leaders to meet attendees from across the institution. Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Md Abul Kalam Azad, along with pro-vice-chancellors, the treasurer, registrar, proctor and other senior officials, were present to mark the occasion.

The university maintained critical medical services throughout the Eid holidays. Around 500 healthcare workers managed outpatient care, while another 500 provided continuous support in wards and emergency units. Over the two days of March 19 and March 22, a total of 944 patients received treatment at outpatient departments.

Diagnostic facilities, including laboratory tests, X-rays and CT scans, stayed open during the break. Patients admitted to the hospital were served special meals on Eid day to mark the occasion. An Eid congregation took place at the university's central mosque on March 21. The gathering reinforced the sense of community among staff, students and faculty. While the event drew significant attendance, no official figures on student participation have been released as of March 25, 2026.

The Eid Reunion 2026 combined celebration with the university's commitment to patient care. Healthcare services ran without interruption, ensuring treatment for hundreds of patients during the holiday period. The event also provided an opportunity for university leaders to engage directly with those working and studying at the institution.
