Bangladesh unites for stronger rehabilitation efforts at BMU’s landmark event

Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) in Dhaka recently hosted the National Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Day 2025, themed 'integrated rehabilitation requires collective effort'. The Bangladesh Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (BSPMR) organized the event. The day began with a rally, led by BMU's pro-vice-chancellor, Professor Dr Md Mujibur Rahman Hawlader. A discussion meeting followed at the Shaheed Dr Milon Hall, chaired by BSPMR president Professor Dr Md Taslim Uddin. Notable guests included Bangladesh Cricket Board president Aminul Islam Bulbul and Professor Mujibur Rahman Hawlader. Professor Hawlader emphasized the need for integrated initiatives in rehabilitation for patients with stroke, accidents, arthritis, and spinal injuries. He highlighted the importance of collective effort in ensuring successful rehabilitation. Bulbul, meanwhile, expressed gratitude to the medical community for their work and emphasized the role of physical maintenance in cricket players' health. The celebration aimed to raise awareness about the importance of physical medicine and rehabilitation in reducing disability and promoting overall well-being. The event underscored the need for collaborative efforts from all stakeholders to build a strong rehabilitation system in Bangladesh.
