Bavaria Invests €10.5 Million to Revolutionize Local Care Services in 2025
Bavaria has awarded over €10.5 million in funding to 34 cities and municipalities for local care projects in 2025. The money comes from the Good Care in Bavaria – GutePflegeFöR programme, approved by Health and Care Minister Judith Gerlach. The initiative aims to support innovative and decentralised care solutions across the region.
The funding will help municipalities develop tailored care services for different age groups and living situations. Projects focus on community networking, care conferences, emergency care, and care navigators. These efforts are designed to strengthen local support systems for those in need.
Among the recipients, Kronach received the largest share with €2.8 million, followed by Rosenheim (€1.1 million), Munich (€650,000), and Roth (€420,000). Smaller allocations went to Bad Kissingen (€228,880) and Parsberg (€200,000). The PIO Oberallgäu project in the Oberallgäu district was also supported. The programme aligns with Bavaria’s broader care strategy, where around 83% of people needing assistance receive support at home. By improving local infrastructure, the funding ensures better access to care for residents of all ages. Up to €20 million is available annually through the Good Care. At Home in Bavaria programme. This year’s 34 approvals highlight the growing demand for flexible, community-based care solutions.
The €10.5 million investment will expand care services in Bavaria’s towns and cities. Municipalities now have more resources to create adaptable support networks. The funding is expected to improve care access and quality for residents across the region.
