Belarus bans Russian dietary supplements over safety risks and dosage violations
Belarus has imposed a ban on several Russian-made dietary supplements, citing safety concerns. The move, announced on 14 March 2025, affects products sold on popular online marketplaces like Wildberries and Ozon without prescription, despite containing therapeutic dosages.
The Belarusian Health Ministry has prohibited the import and sale of supplements from companies such as Biofarm LLC, Zhiva Produkt Pro LLC, Global HealthCare LLC, Supplement Group LLC, and WinLab Nutrition LLC. The banned products include Vitamin D3, Selenium, and Biotin supplements. The ministry warns that these supplements exceed the consumption limits set by the Eurasian Economic Union’s regulations. Consumers are urged to carefully check product information and steer clear of unscrupulous manufacturers and suppliers.
The ban on these Russian-made supplements is a precautionary measure to protect consumers. The Belarusian Health Ministry advises consumers to be vigilant when purchasing supplements and to adhere to recommended daily doses.
