Berlin's First Fully Inclusive Park Opens to All Ages and Abilities

Captain Lakshmi Park has opened as the capital's first fully inclusive public space. Designed to welcome people of all ages and abilities, it offers a mix of activities without any entry fees. The park's layout encourages visitors to stay active, relax, or simply enjoy the surroundings. The park's design focuses on accessibility and safety. Shock-absorbent flooring and barrier-free equipment ensure everyone can take part. Open pathways and proper lighting also allow people to visit comfortably after dark.

Activities range from play areas for children to outdoor fitness stations for adults. Skateboarders glide along dedicated paths, while chess players gather around built-in boards. The space comes alive in the evenings, with families strolling and groups finding spots to unwind. Berlin-based **Büro X Architekten** led the planning and construction. Their goal was to create a space where people could refresh and recharge. Most facilities remain free, making the park a popular destination for all.

Captain Lakshmi Park now stands as a hub for community interaction. Its inclusive design and varied amenities attract visitors throughout the day. The park's success lies in its ability to bring together different groups in a shared, welcoming environment.
