Black Cumin Seed Powder May Improve Heart Health and Aid Weight Loss
A new study has revealed that black cumin seed powder could help manage weight and improve heart health. Researchers from the University of Tehran found that the spice, often used in cooking, may also combat obesity and support cardiovascular function. The findings were published in the Journal of Food Science and Nutrition.
The clinical trial involved 42 adults with high cholesterol levels. For eight weeks, participants took 5 grams of black cumin seed powder daily. By the end of the study, their triglycerides, LDL cholesterol, and total cholesterol had dropped significantly, while HDL cholesterol levels rose.
The findings suggest black cumin seed powder may offer a simple way to lower cholesterol and support heart health. With further research, it could become a widely recommended dietary supplement. The study’s authors encourage its use as part of a balanced approach to preventing obesity and related conditions.
