Stroke was a 'wake-up call' for Queen star - Brian May reveals 2024 stroke but insists he’s ‘in good health’ now

Queen guitarist Brian May has revealed he suffered a stroke in September 2024. The 77-year-old musician described the experience as 'pretty terrifying' but later downplayed its severity. He has since urged fans not to send recovery messages, insisting he is now in good health.

The stroke left May temporarily unable to control his left arm. Despite the scare, he continued performing, sharing the stage with his son, Jimmy May, just days later. This was not his first major health issue—he had a heart attack in 2020 and underwent eye surgery in 2021.

May’s recovery has been swift, with medical professionals approving his new exercise regimen. He continues to perform and engage with fans, though he has asked them to focus on his current well-being rather than past struggles. The musician’s recent health improvements mark another chapter in his long career.
