A new poll has revealed the essential workers Britons value most during the Christmas season. NHS staff, grocery workers, and emergency services top the list of festive heroes. Yet, despite widespread appreciation, many admit they overlook the efforts of those working behind the scenes.

The survey found that half of adults actively thank key workers over the festive period. A striking 89% agreed that Christmas wouldn’t feel the same without them. Among the most recognised roles, supermarket staff lead the way—56% of people interact with them most during the holidays.

The poll highlights the deep appreciation for essential workers during the festive season. While many take time to express thanks, there remains a gap in recognising all those who contribute. Organisations like GroceryAid continue to provide crucial support to these unsung heroes.
