Colter Wall cancels 2026 tour to prioritize mental health recovery
Colter Wall, a well-known name in roots-driven country and Americana, has cancelled the rest of his 2026 tour. The decision comes as the artist steps back from live performances to focus on his mental health. His raw, storytelling style and deep baritone voice have earned him a loyal fanbase over the past decade.
The cancelled Memories and Empties Tour was meant to support his fifth studio album, released in November 2025. The record features introspective songs rooted in blue-collar country themes, continuing Wall's signature unpolished approach to music.
The Memories and Empties Tour kicked off on January 16 in Texas, with nearly 20 dates planned across North America. The schedule included stops in western Canada, the Southwest US, and the Midwest, with a strong focus on Texas cities like Austin and Fort Worth. Other key locations were Las Vegas, Bowling Green in Kentucky, Indianapolis (with two shows), Cincinnati, and Detroit.
Support acts Hayden Redwine and Kade Hoffman were set to join Wall for select performances. However, this is not the first time the artist has faced tour disruptions. In early 2025, he cancelled shows in February and March, citing mental and physical health struggles.
In a recent statement, Wall admitted he had been pushing himself to keep touring despite worsening mental health. The strain has now led to an indefinite hiatus from live music, cutting short the remaining dates of the 2026 tour.
His fifth album, Memories and Empties, arrived in November 2025, reinforcing his reputation for stripped-back, narrative-driven country. The record's themes of hardship and reflection mirror the personal challenges Wall now faces offstage.
The cancellation leaves fans without the chance to see Wall perform his latest material live. His decision to prioritise mental health follows a pattern of previous tour interruptions. For now, the artist's future live appearances remain uncertain, with no timeline given for his return.
