Company poll reveals desire for increased medical benefits provided by the organizational physician

In a recent survey conducted by market research institute YouGov from July 25 to 28, 2025, it was found that a significant portion of employees are interested in receiving more medical services at their workplace. The survey, commissioned by SBK Siemens company health insurance, was conducted among 1,047 employees.

The services offered by company doctors primarily include those related to workplace safety, such as flu shots, eye exams, and ergonomics checks of desks. However, the survey results suggest that the services offered by company doctors may expand to include more medical services.

Vaccinations are the second most popular service used (47 percent), with the most popular service being the eye test (48 percent). Other services offered by company doctors include initial and suitability examinations, consultations on ergonomic work, and psychosocial counseling. Some employees find it convenient to visit the company doctor during lunch or between meetings.

The convenience of visiting the company doctor during work hours may be a factor in the interest expressed by employees. Surveys and industry reports generally indicate that a substantial majority of employees are willing to utilize company-provided medical services if it means easier access and time saved. Approximately 60-80% of employees express willingness to use on-site or near-site medical services for convenience.

The survey findings suggest that while a significant portion of employees are interested in receiving more medical services at their workplace, not everyone has taken advantage of the company doctor's offer yet. 46 percent of respondents have never seen the company doctor.

The additional services commonly include preventive care, urgent care, health counseling, telemedicine, and basic diagnostics. Some also provide pharmacy services and prescription management on site for convenience.

In summary, the survey by YouGov indicates that a majority of employees (63%) think it's a good idea if company doctors can offer more medical services. The trend aligns with the growing adoption of concierge and direct primary care models, as well as telehealth integration, to enhance convenience for patients in employer settings.
