"Competition Regulating National Supply"
The city of Fulda, known as the cathedral city of Germany, is playing host to a significant event this weekend. The "DRK Federal Competition of Units" has brought together over 400 Red Cross members from across the country, with hundreds of nurses joining the ranks.
Donata Freifrau Schenck zu Schweinsberg, President of the hosting Fulda district association, has praised the competition as a "high-caliber performance competition with nationwide impact." She acknowledges the volunteers as the "capital" of the event, expressing her gratitude for their constant readiness and availability, day and night, wherever they are needed.
The competition, which consists of 16 stations where competitors will test their skills, is a complex assistance system and disaster protection event. The participating units are integral to this system, playing crucial roles in first aid, caring for people in distress, and navigating vehicles safely through narrow passages.
Martin Bullermann, DRK Federal Emergency Services Leader, shares Freifrau Schenck zu Schweinsberg's enthusiasm, considering the participating units as a "reliable partner in the complex assistance system" and a "competent point of contact in disaster and population protection."
The event is not confined to a single location. Competitors will be tested in various locations, including Fulda's city center and the Fulda River valley. The competition's focus remains on the volunteers, with Martin Bullermann expressing his excitement for the weekend in Fulda.
