Costco Offers Discounted Ozempic and Wegovy This Friday

Starting this Friday, over 600 Costco pharmacies nationwide will offer discounted prescriptions for Ozempic and Wegovy, manufactured by Novo Nordisk. This move aims to provide authentic versions of these drugs to patients, competing with cheaper alternatives.

Costco members with a prescription will pay $499 for a one-month supply of either drug. This price is also available at Costco's direct-to-consumer website, as well as through CVS and Walmart. Executive members and those with Costco Citibank credit cards will also receive a cash back reward for prescription purchases.

Novo Nordisk's decision to offer these drugs at a consistent price point is part of their strategy to provide authentic Ozempic and Wegovy where patients seek care. In the United States, these drugs have shown potential to reduce stroke risk, treat liver disease, and protect heart health. However, despite these benefits, they remain out of reach for many uninsured or underinsured people.

Beginning this Friday, Costco pharmacies will offer Ozempic and Wegovy at $499 per month for eligible self-paying patients. This pricing is consistent across various platforms and retailers, including Costco's direct-to-consumer website, CVS, and Walmart. While this move increases access to these drugs, the financial barrier remains a challenge for many uninsured or underinsured individuals.
