Dhaka University launches free health camp for faculty members
A two-day medical camp for faculty members opened at Dhaka University's Shaheed Mofazzal Haider Chowdhury conference room. Organised by the Faculty of Arts, the event provided free health check-ups with support from the Popular Diagnostic Centre. Senior university officials attended the launch on the first day.
The camp began with health screenings for teachers from the Faculty of Arts. Faculty dean Professor Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan, former dean Professor Sadrul Amin, and camp coordinator Professor MA Kausar were present alongside other faculty members.
Dhaka University vice-chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan visited the camp, as did pro-vice chancellor (administration) Professor Saima Haque Bidisha and treasurer Professor M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury. Each official inspected the facilities and spoke with participants during separate visits.
The Popular Diagnostic Centre assisted in running the free check-ups, though the exact number of faculty members who received screenings was not publicly disclosed.
The event aimed to provide accessible healthcare for university staff. Faculty members received medical assessments at no cost over the two days. The initiative reflected ongoing efforts to support the well-being of Dhaka University's academic community.
