Drugstore Chain dm Expands Health Offerings - dm Reports Strong Revenue Growth, Expands Health Services

German retailer dm has reported a steady revenue growth, with a 6.5% rise in Germany and 8.2% for the entire group in the 2024/25 fiscal year. The company's sales reached nearly €19.2 billion in Europe and €13.3 billion in Germany. Meanwhile, dm introduced a new 'Home & Living' product range and its own private label for household goods and decor.

dm's expansion continues with the introduction of 1,847 pickup stations and the piloting of 24/7 pickup lockers at six locations. The company's workforce has grown by over 4,000 employees, reaching a total of 93,426. dm serves over 2.1 million daily customers in Germany across 2,154 stores.

In response to the growing demand for health insurance services, dm is expanding its health offerings. It is introducing blood, skin, and eye tests in selected stores with specialized partners. Later this year, dm plans to launch its own online pharmacy, initially offering around 2,500 non-prescription products. dm's CEO, Christoph Werner, has warned of an impending healthcare crisis due to a shortage of medical professionals.

dm's growth in revenue and expansion in services reflect the company's commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its customers. Its investment in health services and the upcoming online pharmacy aim to provide greater access to healthcare products and services, potentially alleviating some pressure on the healthcare system.
