Eating Early Could Boost Fat Metabolism and Curb Health Risks
Eating meals earlier in the day could improve fat metabolism and reduce health risks, according to a new study. Researchers found that restricting food intake to an 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. window brought greater benefits than eating later. The findings suggest that aligning meal times with the body’s natural rhythms may help prevent metabolic diseases.
The study involved 31 middle-aged women with severe obesity. Participants followed a time-restricted eating plan, either from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Those who ate earlier showed more significant changes in fat metabolism.
The results highlight the importance of meal timing in managing weight and metabolic health. An early eating window, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., appears more effective than a later one. This approach could offer a simple yet powerful strategy for reducing disease risk in people with obesity.
