Elderly man arrested after threatening carer with a gun in Renningen
A 66-year-old man in Renningen was arrested after threatening a healthcare worker with a firearm. The incident unfolded when the carer, a 37-year-old, was subjected to verbal abuse and threats inside the man's home. Police intervened after the worker left the property and raised the alarm.
The confrontation began when the man allegedly aimed a gun at the carer during a home visit. Fearing for their safety, the worker immediately left the house and contacted the police.
Officers arrived at the scene and engaged the man in conversation. After a period of negotiation, they convinced him to surrender without further resistance. A search of the property later uncovered two starter pistols and a crossbow, which were seized by authorities. The suspect was found to be in a severe psychological state. He had been scheduled for hospital treatment prior to the incident. An investigation has since been launched, with charges including threats and insults.
