Electric Tricycles Bring Freedom and Joy to Regens Wagner Residents
Regens Wagner Holzhausen has expanded its mobility options with three new electric tricycles. Funded by Aktion Mensch, the e-trikes include a single-seater, a tandem, and a rickshaw. The vehicles aim to support residents with varied mobility needs while encouraging outdoor activity.
The new fleet offers something for everyone. A single-seater and a tandem allow residents to ride independently or in pairs, while the rickshaw provides space for those who need assistance. Protective helmets have been ordered to keep riders safe on their trips.
Niklas Kirsch, a staff member, highlighted the tandem's value for group outings. It lets residents who cannot ride alone still join in the fun. Robert Scholz, head of the therapeutic education home, sees the rickshaw as especially useful for outings with children, fostering inclusion. The tricycles are stored in an easily accessible spot to encourage regular use. Residents have already taken to the e-trikes, enjoying the freedom of movement, social interaction, and health benefits. Riding outdoors, feeling the wind, and exploring nature all contribute to their sense of well-being and independence.
The new e-trikes provide practical mobility solutions for all residents. With options for solo, paired, or assisted rides, the vehicles promote both physical activity and social connection. The initiative reflects a commitment to accessibility and quality of life at Regens Wagner Holzhausen.
