Forcefully Detained: Young Teen and Grandmother Brutally Assaulted at Home; Ex-Boyfriend Apprehended

In Madera, California, a 15-year-old girl and her 63-year-old grandmother, Farrah and Bridget Morin respectively, remained in critical and traumatized conditions after an alleged attack by Farrah's ex-boyfriend. The incident occurred on the morning of May 18.

According to family members, the attacker, 18-year-old David Daniel Torres, invaded their home wearing a ski mask and armed with a crowbar. The assault occurred around 1 a.m., as both victims were asleep.

The family spokesperson described the incident as "an intentional, calculated act of brutality and attempted murder." Farrah reportedly sustained severe injuries, including internal brain bleeding and a fractured skull. Despite her struggles, she was making progress in the ICU and was reported to be in stable condition as of May 22.

Bridget Morin endured deep wounds to her head and arms. She was discharged from the hospital but continued to be traumatized from the attack. The same day, the family reported that she was staying at a hotel in Fresno, where Farrah was being treated.

The Madera Police Department identified the suspect as David Daniel Torres. He was apprehended shortly after the attack. Family members claimed that Torres had recently sent messages to Farrah demanding a meeting. When she refused, he is believed to have broken into their home to carry out the assault.

A GoFundMe campaign was established to help the Morin family relocate to a new home where they would feel safe after Farrah's discharge from the hospital. The family had expressed concerns about returning to their current apartment due to the attack.
