HealthQuad Expands AI and Deep-Tech Investments in Healthcare

HealthQuad, the healthcare-focused venture capital arm of Quadria Capital, is deepening its investment strategy in deep-tech and AI-enabled healthcare through its Fund III, which aims to raise up to $300 million, including a $100 million greenshoe option. To drive this strategy, HealthQuad has appointed Namit Chugh as Director, a seasoned investor with over 15 years of experience in healthtech and AI-enabled healthcare models.

Chugh, formerly Principal at W Health Ventures, has a proven track record in investing in AI and tech-enabled healthcare companies. At W Health, he helped conceptualize the venture studio 2070 Health and backed tech-enabled companies at seed stage, including Wysa (an AI-powered mental health platform), BeatO (digital diabetes care), and Mylo (a parenting content-commerce platform).

At HealthQuad, Chugh will focus on spotting high-impact growth ventures across deep-tech and tech-enabled healthcare models. His role also includes strengthening founder engagement and formulating thematic investment strategies aligned with HealthQuad's core focus on digital care, medtech, and biopharma sectors.

HealthQuad’s investment approach centers on supporting early-stage companies transforming healthcare in India and the Asia region by leveraging technology to improve affordability, accessibility, and quality. Their portfolio focuses on ventures that combine deep technology with healthcare delivery innovation to create scalable, category-defining businesses.

The appointment of Chugh follows a split with Belgian impact investor KOIS, which led to the launch of a separate VC fund called HealthKOIS. Amit Varma, co-founder of HealthQuad, stated that Chugh brings fresh perspectives, deep sector insight, and a sharp founder-first mindset.

Prior to W Health, Chugh was a part of the investment team at Lok Capital, an impact investor in India. He is a management graduate from the Indian School of Business (ISB).

In summary, Quadria Capital’s HealthQuad is expanding its AI and deep-tech investments in healthcare by hiring Namit Chugh to lead AI and deep-tech sourcing and strategy, targeting investments in AI-based digital health platforms, medtech innovations, and tech-enabled care models, and backing companies that leverage technology to transform healthcare outcomes, accessibility, and affordability in India and Asia. This strategy reflects a clear intent to build a portfolio of AI and deep-tech healthcare ventures that can impact the evolving healthcare ecosystem in the region.

  2. In addition to his role at HealthQuad, Chugh's expertise in finance and investing will be valuable in formulating thematic investment strategies aligned with HealthQuad's core focus on digital care, medtech, and biopharma sectors, as well as in strengthening founder engagement.
