From Vet School to Kazakhstan’s Frontlines: A Soldier’s Unlikely Path

Lieutenant Colonel Arman Zhusupov has spent years safeguarding Kazakhstan's borders, ensuring peace and security along vital frontiers. One of his officers, Kazbek Abylanbekov, chose this demanding path after studying veterinary medicine—a decision driven by his commitment to protecting the nation's borders.

Kazbek Abylanbekov graduated from the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University with a degree in veterinary medicine. Yet instead of pursuing a career in animal health, he joined the border troops, believing service was the best way to defend his country and secure a peaceful future for its people.

For Abylanbekov, border service is more than a job—it is a way to serve his motherland and protect his family's future. His efforts, along with those of his unit, help ensure that Kazakhstan remains a place where citizens can live with dignity and peace.
