Germany’s New Fix for ‘Ozempic Face’: Can Skincare Reverse Sagging Skin?
Rapid weight loss from medications like Ozempic has led to a noticeable side effect: sagging facial skin, often called 'Ozempic Face.' By 2025, Germany has introduced specialized products to tackle this issue. Dermatologists warn that losing fat too quickly can leave skin loose and wrinkled, as collagen and elasticity break down.
The problem stems from GLP-1 drugs such as Ozempic, which reduce facial fat pads along with overall weight. Dermatologist Matthias Augustin highlights that this depletion weakens collagen and elasticity, causing premature ageing. In response, new consumer products containing hyaluronic acid and vitamin-mineral complexes have entered the German market to restore skin structure and speed up recovery.
The rise of 'Ozempic Face' has pushed experts and manufacturers to develop targeted solutions. With hyaluronic acid supplements, tailored skincare, and lifestyle adjustments, those losing weight can now better protect their skin. These measures aim to restore firmness and prevent lasting damage from rapid fat reduction.
