The project involved a detailed review of Germany's medical landscape, where over 390,000 doctors work in private practices and hospitals. The final selection resulted in 4,050 recommendations, with some specialists appearing in multiple categories. Each physician's inclusion was based on a methodology approved by stern's editorial team.
The findings do not track changes in the number of recommended specialists over the past five years. However, the list highlights those currently recognised for their expertise. After publication, the named doctors can choose to buy a seal for use in their own marketing.
Schizophrenia care was among the areas examined, reflecting the investigation's broad scope. The institute's approach was carefully checked to ensure fairness and accuracy before the results were released.
