Firefighters stressed that even legal fireworks pose serious risks, including lifelong harm to hearing and vision.
Illegal fireworks, like ‘Polish bangers,’ are particularly dangerous due to their higher explosive power and unpredictable behaviour. Authorities have also warned against handling fireworks while under the influence of alcohol. They emphasised that children should never be allowed to use fireworks without strict adult supervision.
