Gujarat To Mark World Meditation Day Today With State-Level Programme, Yoga Board Convocation
Gujarat will host a grand state-level celebration of World Meditation Day on December 21, 2025, at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. The event, recognised by the United Nations, aims to bring together citizens, leaders, and institutions to promote mental peace and wellness through collective meditation and yoga education.
December 21 marks the United Nations’ designated World Meditation Day, a global observance highlighting mindfulness and inner harmony. Gujarat’s celebration will feature a large-scale meditation session led by Param Pujya Shri Shivkrupanand Swamiji, with thousands of practitioners expected to take part.
The programme will also serve as the convocation ceremony for newly trained yoga coaches and trainers from the Gujarat State Yoga Board. By reinforcing yoga education, organisers hope to strengthen the state’s spiritual and mental wellness movement. The event will be held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, with Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat presiding as the chief guest. Open to all citizens, yoga enthusiasts, and meditation practitioners, it seeks to create a shared platform for reflection and well-being.
The celebration will combine mass meditation, yoga recognition, and discussions on mental wellness. Organisers anticipate a significant turnout, reinforcing Gujarat’s role in promoting spiritual and emotional health. The event’s outcomes may further encourage yoga and meditation practices across the state.
