Gut Clinic Raises $1M to Expand Specialized Healthcare Across Northern India

Gut Clinic, a healthcare platform specializing in gastroenterology, liver, and metabolic care, has secured $1 million in seed funding. The Delhi-based startup plans to expand its services across Northern India, aiming to open over 20 centres in the coming months. Founded by US-certified physician Dr. Akshat Kumar, the company combines clinical expertise with technology-driven care solutions.

The funding round attracted a strategic group of more than 15 investors, including healthcare professionals and industry leaders. Among the backers are Dr. Amitoj Singh, Dr. Aman Rajpal, Ankur Kathuria, Juhi Bhatnagar, and Deepak Garg. The capital will support the launch of new centres, enhance clinical systems, and broaden diagnostic services within India's $197 billion preventive healthcare sector.

Gut Clinic currently operates in the Delhi NCR region but has set its sights on Chandigarh, Punjab, and other parts of Northern India. The startup follows an outpatient-first approach, supplemented by day-care and hospital-based facilities. Its goal is to manage chronic and preventive conditions more efficiently, reducing reliance on acute hospital care.

Dr. Akshat Kumar, the company's founder and CEO, explained that the investment will help deliver consistent, high-quality outpatient care on a larger scale. He is joined by Dr. Manav Wadhawan, who serves as Chief Strategy and Medical Officer, strengthening the leadership team's medical and operational expertise.

With fresh funding in place, Gut Clinic is poised to expand its network and improve access to specialised gastroenterology and metabolic care. The company's focus on outpatient and preventive services aims to fill gaps in India's healthcare system. Over 20 new centres are expected to open as part of its growth strategy.
