Hawaii Pacific Health promotes two longtime leaders to key executive roles

Hawaii Pacific Health has announced two key leadership changes. Mathew Loughlin has been promoted to chief risk officer, while Nhelda Aguda takes over as vice president of hospital operations at Pali Momi. Both bring decades of experience within the organization.

Mathew Loughlin first joined Hawaii Pacific Health in 2001 as a graduate nurse. Over the years, he took on multiple roles, including ED charge nurse, hospital house supervisor, and manager of patient flow. In 2016, he moved into risk management before serving as vice president of hospital operations at Pali Momi.

Nhelda Aguda steps into the role previously held by Loughlin. With 25 years in nursing—15 of them in leadership—she most recently worked as director of patient care services. Her background includes overseeing clinical teams and improving patient outcomes.

Loughlin's promotion to chief risk officer follows a long career in hospital operations and risk management. Aguda's appointment as vice president of hospital operations at Pali Momi brings extensive nursing leadership to the position. Both changes reflect internal growth within Hawaii Pacific Health.
