Health experts unite to raise diabetes awareness through education and screenings
A Diabetes awareness session organized by the Student Affairs Deanship brought together health experts, trainees, and faculty members this week. The main event, titled Health & Diabetes... A Relationship of Awareness, included lectures, screenings, and interactive activities to promote better understanding of the condition.
The session featured a lecture called Diabetes Under Control, delivered by Ms. Zahraa Rahma from the Dasman Diabetes Institute. Prof. Dr. med. Thomas Haak also contributed to the discussion, sharing insights on managing the disease effectively. Topics covered prevention, early detection, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments for those at risk.
The awareness session reached a broad audience, offering both expert advice and practical resources. Free screenings, product tastings, and interactive booths gave participants tools to better manage or prevent diabetes. Organisers hope the event will lead to long-term health improvements in the community.
