Rajasthan Reports Nine New Covid-19 Cases in 24 Hours, Including a 16-Day-Old Infant
Jaipur, Rajasthan: The Health Department of Rajasthan has reported nine new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the state this year to 32. The city with the highest number of cases is Jaipur, where seven of these newly detected cases were reported. The remaining two were confirmed at AIIMS Jodhpur.
Four of the cases detected in Jaipur were from B Lal Diagnostic Lab, and one was from Aanavik Diagnostic Centre. In Jodhpur, a 16-day-old male infant and a 35-year-old female have tested positive. The cumulative Covid-19 cases from January 1 to May 27 this year are 32, with one death.
To monitor the situation closely and enforce safety protocols, Rajasthan's Medical and Health Minister, Gajendra Singh Khinwasar, held a high-level meeting with department officials on Tuesday. Emphasizing the need for caution, the Minister advised vulnerable groups, including the elderly, pregnant women, individuals with serious illnesses, and children, to take extra precautions.
During the meeting, essential directions were issued to strengthen preventive measures and ensure medical preparedness. Department officials were directed to ensure that diagnostic and treatment facilities remain accessible and active across the state. As reported by medical experts, while the situation is under control, ongoing monitoring is crucial.
Gayatri Rathore, Principal Government Secretary of the Department of Medicine and Health, stressed the importance of ensuring the full functionality of oxygen plants across the state. Officers were instructed to repair any non-operational plants promptly and ensure that all facilities are prepared to handle potential surges in cases.
In accordance with the Union government, the current Covid-19 variant is not considered fatal, but individuals should remain vigilant and consult a doctor if suspect symptoms such as cough, cold, or fever appear. Rathore particularly underlined the need to strictly adhere to the central government's COVID-19 guidelines as they are updated over time.
