Effective immediately, pregnant schoolgirls, university students, and college students in the Altai Krai region are eligible for a one-time payment of 100,000 rubles, according to an order issued by the Altai Krai Ministry of Social Protection on May 12. The payments, designated for rights that arose on January 1, 2025, are intended for individuals residing in the region.
To qualify, the future mother must be registered with a regional medical organization and have reached at least 12 weeks of pregnancy. Recipients must also be engaged in full-time education at schools, colleges, technical schools, universities, or professional training programs, with the exception of retraining and skill enhancement for workers and employees. Applications for the payment must be submitted prior to giving birth.
The one-time payment is available once and must be claimed by December 31, 2027. Notably, similar support measures for pregnant students are already implemented in various other Russian regions, with one-time allowances ranging between 100,000 and 150,000 rubles.
On a national scale, the Russian government has planned to enhance maternity benefits for full-time students, increasing the average allowance to 90,000 rubles across the country. This new calculation will be based on the regional subsistence minimum, as opposed to the current stipend-based formula. Although this indicates a broader focus on supporting student families, it does not necessarily address potential increases in one-time allowances for pregnant students in specific regional contexts.
