Dollar General has announced a recall of three lots of Clover Valley Instant Coffee, sold between July 9-21, 2025, due to the potential presence of glass in the product. The affected coffee was distributed in all Dollar General retail stores nationwide, excluding Hawaii and Alaska.

The recalled coffee comes in 8-ounce cans with the UPC number 876941004069. The affected lot numbers and "Best By" dates, displayed on the neck of the canister, are as follows:

  • Lot L-5163, Best By 12/13/2026
  • Lot L-5164, Best By 12/13/2026
  • Lot L-5165, Best By 12/14/2026

Customers who purchased the affected coffee are advised not to consume it and to contact Dollar General for a full refund. Customers can reach out to the company via email at [email protected] or by phone at 1-888-309-9030. The refund request includes the purchase price, including any tax.

No injuries or illnesses have been reported as a result of the glass contamination. However, ingesting glass fragments could potentially cause damage to teeth, lacerations of the mouth and throat, or perforation of the intestine.

Dollar General initiated the recall following a customer notification and is currently investigating the source of the glass contamination. The company encourages customers who purchased the affected coffee to discard it and to contact them for a full refund. The refund request can be made between 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. CDT, seven days a week.

The recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and is being done with FDA oversight. Customers are advised to check their purchases and to follow the instructions provided by Dollar General to ensure their safety.

In light of the recall, it's important to note that the affected Clover Valley Instant Coffee may not be safe for health-and-wellness purposes, particularly considering the potential presence of glass.
