Instructions for Harmonizing Fitbit with Your Apple Device

In this article, we'll walk you through the process of syncing your Fitbit device with an iPhone.

CleverTech, a tech repair business based in San Jose, California, is committed to environmental responsibility by recycling electronic waste. The President of CleverTech, Gonzalo Martinez, joins us today to co-author this guide.

To get started, let's first install the Fitbit app.

  1. Install the Fitbit app
    • Open the App Store on your iPhone.
    • Search for the official Fitbit app and download it.
    • Upon installation, open the Fitbit app.
  2. Create or log into your Fitbit account
    • If you don’t have an account, create one by following the on-screen prompts.
    • Otherwise, log in with your existing Fitbit credentials.
  3. Turn on Bluetooth on your iPhone
    • Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
    • Tap Bluetooth.
    • Toggle the switch to the on position (green).
  4. Pair your Fitbit device with the iPhone
    • In the Fitbit app, select Set up a Device and choose your Fitbit model.
    • Follow the app’s prompts, which usually include scanning for your device nearby via Bluetooth.
    • You may need to enter a verification code shown on your Fitbit display into the app to confirm pairing.
  5. Complete setup and syncing
    • Once paired, allow the Fitbit app the necessary permissions for notifications and health data.
    • Keep Bluetooth enabled on your iPhone for automatic syncing.
    • Your Fitbit will now regularly sync data with your iPhone through the Fitbit app. You can also trigger manual syncs within the app if needed.

To sync your Fitbit manually, place your Fitbit device near your iPhone, open the Fitbit app, tap the Fitbit button, and tap "Sync Now".

By following these steps, you'll ensure your Fitbit and iPhone connect seamlessly, allowing full access to fitness tracking data and notifications. Remember to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy policy before proceeding.
