This is a black and white pic. There is a text written on the road. We can see few people are walking on the road and among them few persons are holding banners and hoardings in their hands. On the right side few persons are walking on the footpath. In the background we can see buildings, traffic signal pole, boards on the pole and sky.

Join AFSP's Out of the Darkness Walk in Liverpool on Oct 11 to Fight Suicide

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is set to host the annual Out of the Darkness Walk in Liverpool's Long Branch Park on October 11. The event aims to raise awareness and funds for suicide prevention, with a poignant focus on remembering those lost to suicide.

The walk, scheduled to start at 10:45 a.m. after a 9 a.m. check-in, is a significant event in the fight against the rising number of suicides in the U.S. In 2023 alone, there were over 49,000 deaths by suicide. The AFSP hopes to turn the tide through education and support.

Participants will receive honor beads, each color symbolizing a personal connection to the cause. This moving tradition allows attendees to honor those they've lost and find comfort in community. Local resources will also be on hand to provide critical information about suicide prevention.

The Out of the Darkness Walk is free to register, encouraging all interested to participate. By doing so, they'll contribute to the fight against suicide, help raise awareness, and honor those lost. The event underscores the urgent need for suicide prevention efforts, as the number of deaths continues to rise.
