Karkuma BioComfort probiotic shows breakthrough relief for GERD and IBS patients

A recent clinical trial has revealed promising benefits of a probiotic food product called Karkuma BioComfort. The findings were presented at an event on Thursday at the Centre for Advanced Research in Sciences on Dhaka University campus. Organised by the department of food technology and nutritional science of Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, the gathering brought together experts to discuss probiotics and their impact on health.

The trial showed that Karkuma BioComfort significantly eased symptoms in patients with GERD and IBS. Issues such as acidity, heartburn, bloating, constipation, and diarrhoea were notably reduced. These results were shared during a session attended by scientists, physicians, researchers, and journalists.

Renowned nutrition scientist Jeba Mahmud spoke about how probiotics can help manage gastrointestinal problems in children. Arun Kumar Mondal, executive director of Organic Nutrition Limited, also addressed the audience. The event saw participation from Gopalganj Science and Technology University vice-chancellor Professor Hossain Uddin Shekhar and MBSTU vice-chancellor Professor Md Anwarul Azim Akhand. Speakers emphasised the global trend towards probiotic-based foods as a way to lower the risk of chronic health conditions. Discussions also covered the increasing use of probiotics as functional foods and the regulatory frameworks governing them. Professor A K Obaidul Haque, from the organising department, contributed to the conversations on probiotics and their role in human health.

The event highlighted the potential of Karkuma BioComfort in improving digestive health. Experts agreed that probiotics could play a key role in managing gastrointestinal disorders. The findings and discussions may encourage further research and adoption of probiotic-based solutions in healthcare.
