Man with Knife Near Lantern Parade: Police Report Arrest - Knife-Wielding Man Arrested at Lantern Parade Amid Psychological Crisis

A 31-year-old man was arrested in Ellingen during a lantern parade after causing a disturbance armed with a knife and an iron rod. The man, who was also carrying pepper spray, was taken to the Mayo Clinic due to a psychological crisis. Witnesses reported the man shouting incoherently during the incident. Authorities confirmed he was experiencing a severe psychological episode and suffering from delusional beliefs. The man was apprehended after a search involving multiple patrol cars and a helicopter at a property in the area. For the safety of around 100-150 parade participants, police directed them to a nearby kindergarten during the operation. The arrested man was carrying a multi-tool knife and pepper spray. He was promptly taken to the Mayo Clinic for treatment, ensuring his safety and that of the community.
