Launch of complimentary medical check-up initiative for Filipinos residing in Bahrain by the Philippines
The Philippines launched a month-long health-screening program for its citizens working in Bahrain, as part of the 2022 "Healthy Pinoy" campaign. This initiative, a collaboration between the Philippine Embassy in Bahrain and the Al-Hilal Healthcare Group, aims to prioritize the wellness of Filipino expatriates living and working in the Gulf country.
The health-screening program offers free blood testing and doctor consultations across all nine hospitals under the Al-Hilal Healthcare Group, including those in Manama, Muharraq, and Askar. The services provided include tests for blood sugar, cholesterol, uric acid, kidney, and liver screening. Complimentary doctor consultations have been added to the program this year, offering Filipino workers a chance for further evaluation.
The scope of the campaign includes outreach services and comprehensive health screenings, designed to benefit over 57,000 Filipinos living and working in Bahrain. The consular outreach mission, available on Fridays (a rest day for Filipino workers in Bahrain), is providing various services for Filipino workers in addition to the health-screening program.
The consular outreach mission and health-screening program are being conducted in multiple locations across Bahrain, making it more accessible for Filipino workers. The program is available for the entire month of August, offering a chance for a significant number of Filipinos to take advantage of these free services.
The health-screening program and consular outreach mission are part of ongoing efforts to support the well-being of the Filipino migrant workforce abroad. By partnering with local hospitals and the Philippine Embassy in Bahrain, the initiative aims to ensure that Filipinos living and working in Bahrain receive the healthcare services they need to maintain their health and wellness.
