Legendary Russian EMT Igor Pushkin dies at 68 after 40 years of service

A tragic accident in the Zarechnaya district of Biysk has claimed the life of Igor Pushkin, head of the Zarechnaya and Biysk emergency medical substations. The news was announced on social media by the medical organization. The tragedy occurred as Igor Alexandrovich was returning home after work.

Igor Alexandrovich dedicated over 40 years of his life to serving at Biysk's emergency medical station. He began his career in 1985 as an emergency physician and, in 1989, transitioned to the resuscitation team. In July 2020, he took charge of two substations—Zarechnaya and Biysk. Despite holding a leadership position, he continued responding to emergency calls, delivering critical medical care to the city's residents.

Colleagues admired him for his professionalism, his readiness to assist in any situation, and the wisdom and support he offered to young specialists. They also respected his dedication to his work and his strong sense of responsibility. Igor Alexandrovich turned 68 in April. The team at Biysk's emergency medical station extends their heartfelt condolences to his family, loved ones, and friends.
