Lower Saxony’s integration alliance rebrands to champion democracy and diversity

A long-running integration initiative in Lower Saxony is marking its tenth anniversary with a renewed focus on democracy and diversity. The alliance, formerly known as Lower Saxony Getting Things Done, has rebranded as the Alliance for Integration, Democracy & Diversity to reflect its expanding goals. Organisers have also announced a major conference in Hanover for February 2026, aimed at shaping a forward-looking vision for the region.

The alliance began in 2015 as a practical response to integration challenges in Lower Saxony. Over the past decade, it has organised more than 50 conferences and job fairs, alongside numerous local projects. These efforts have coincided with measurable progress: around 292,000 people with refugee backgrounds currently live in the state, with 68% of working-age arrivals from 2015 now employed.

The rebranded alliance enters its next decade with a clearer focus on democracy, diversity, and long-term integration. Its upcoming 2026 conference will provide a platform for discussing practical steps toward a more inclusive society. Meanwhile, the coalition continues to expand its membership and projects, building on a decade of collaborative work in Lower Saxony.
