Man Wins Compensation After Improper Dental Treatment in Kyzylorda

A man from Kyzylorda, Kazakhstan, has won a significant compensation after undergoing an improper dental treatment at a private clinic in the city. The dental treatment, which was not performed by a dentist but by a dental assistant with secondary education, resulted in the patient experiencing severe pain and a fever shortly after.

The patient was forced to seek urgent hospitalization due to the complications from the dental procedure. In response, the patient's mother filed a complaint with the Department of Health and Pharma Control in Kyzylorda. An investigation was conducted, revealing the improper dental treatment.

The patient subsequently filed a lawsuit against the clinic for poor service. The court ruled in favor of the plaintiff, ordering the clinic to pay 25,000 tenge in material damage and 500,000 tenge as compensation for moral harm. The compensation covers the material damage caused by the need for hospitalization and the moral harm suffered by the patient.

Interestingly, this is not an isolated incident. A similar case occurred in Uralsk, where a local resident won a lawsuit against a car dealership. The man bought a car for 17.8 million tenge, but after driving 15,000 kilometers, it broke down. He received over 20.6 million tenge, which is several million more than the initial cost of the car.

Strict measures are awaited for Kazakh dental clinics following the pensioner scandal. The details of these measures are yet to be announced, but they are expected to address the issue of improper treatments and ensure the quality of services provided by dental clinics.

It is essential to note that the judge in this case was represented by a defense lawyer, as the case involves serious charges (particularly aggravated forgery) and the defendant is entitled and required to have legal representation in such court proceedings.

This incident serves as a reminder for patients to carefully consider their choices when seeking medical or dental treatments and to report any instances of improper service to the relevant authorities.
