Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino celebrates 9 years sober and a new mission

Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino has marked a decade of sobriety after years of public struggles with addiction. Known for his time on Jersey Shore, he now focuses on helping others through recovery. His journey includes founding The Archangel Centers, a network of treatment facilities for mental health and substance abuse.

Sorrentino’s battle with addiction played out during his reality TV fame. His substance abuse issues became widely known while filming Jersey Shore. After years of struggle, he committed to recovery, taking it one day at a time.

In 2019, he served an eight-month prison sentence for tax evasion. The experience became a turning point. Sobriety brought him clarity, renewed faith, and a stronger connection with family. Today, he is married with three children and has maintained nine years of sobriety. The Archangel Centers, co-founded by Sorrentino and Dr. Richard K. Schasberger, first opened in Louisville, Kentucky, in 2001. The project expanded in 2024 with a new facility in New Jersey. Sorrentino, now a published author, plans to launch more treatment centres to support those facing similar challenges.

Sorrentino’s story highlights the long-term impact of recovery. His work with The Archangel Centers provides resources for others seeking help. For anyone struggling with substance abuse, the SAMHSA National Helpline is available at 1-800-662-HELP (4357).
